• What does MDM Services mean?
  Our Master Data Management (MDM) Services refer to the services that address the data challenges faced by organizations. Data challenges faced by each company vary from simple data standardization procedures to complex data lifecycle management. Our complete suite of MDM services is capable of handling all types of data (structured and unstructured data).
• How does Scope deliver its MDM Services?
  Scope uses a service based delivery model. We use our own MDM platform built on web 2.0architecture for delivering our MDM services. The MDM platform supports advanced data handling capabilities by deploying the best of breed in technology. In order to provide higher quality in our MDM services, we deliver our services based on a hybrid model of technology + subject matter expertise + knowledge repositories. This proven model has addresses the business needs of customers better.

• What work timings can you offer?
  The team typically works 16 X 5, i.e. from 10:30 AM GMT to 02:30 AM GMT, Monday through Friday. Through the year, Scope is closed for 12 public/ national holidays. Depending on the real-time needs of our clients, various teams can be deployed to work on multiple shifts across time zones. However, in such cases, additional charges to the pricing will be applicable.
• How can we assess the quality/ process of your company?
  We are willing to do a limited pilot assignment to showcase our capabilities.
• What are the methods of contact during our engagement with Scope?
  Our Business Development Managers (BDMs) in the US, Netherlands and the UK will be in constant touch with you at every stage, from enquiry through commissioning of the project/ pilot. For project/ pilot-related communications in the operational area, the business head will be the primary contact person, starting from the commissioning of the assignment. For all business and commercial communication, the contact persons will be the Chief Executive Officer, the President, and the Chief Operations Officer of Scope. While direct email communication is possible only at the team leader and above levels due to security reasons, instant messaging is available only at the Business Head level. Depending on the requirement, the teams can collaborate with the client teams for a telecom/ web conference as well.

• Scope's MDM Technology/ Platform

• Do you sell your MDM platform?

  Our MDM platform is not for sale in any form (product/ license model). MDM Technology is still evolving and with an outright purchase of a product, there is a high probability of your technology getting outdated very soon. Our MDM platform is based on web 2.0 architecture. The MDM platform has advanced customizable modules that support ETL, standardization & de-duplication, and data classification. We use the MDM platform to deliver MDM services only.
• How do you handle technology implementation aspects of MDM?
  If you had already purchased your MDM tool and need assistance in handling the data quality/ format challenges posed by the new technology, then our MDM services is the best solution. We partner with System Integrators (SIs) and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to implement the technology at your end.
• What type of advanced technology is available in your MDM Platform?
  Our MDM platform is very flexible and can be configured to suit specific customer needs. The following are some of the highlights of our MDM tool:

  • Built on Web 2.0 architecture

  • Appropriate interfaces for pre-processing and exception handling during ETL

• I already have an ERP system. Wouldn't this take care of my data quality issues?
  There are many challenge such as inaccurate or incomplete source data, duplicate vendors in ERP system, etc. Without good quality data, enterprise system implementation is doomed to provide disappointing results or even result in outright failure (Dun & Bradstreet).

  ERP may provide the tools to manage transaction processing and financial reporting, but it lacks the forward-looking visibility needed to manage data, support business unit decisions, or plan, budget and forecast spend properly.

• Why is human expertise important in any MDM solution?
  The levels of accuracy provided by a technology solution are far less than that offered by the hybrid model (Technology + Human Expertise). Human expertise is required to understand the business need of data better and provide a solution that addresses specific business needs. Certain important aspects of data standardization and data classification can be handled by human experts. Technology can take care of only limited data quality problems as the data quality problem are unique and the severity varies. The hybrid approach is the best way to address the data challenges/ needs of an organization.

• What is the ISO 8000-110 Certification?
  ISO 8000-110 certification is a master data quality certification provided by ECCMA (Electronic Commerce Code Management Association). ECCMA awards organizations and individuals as "Master Data Quality Managers" only after they prove their ability to offer master data quality solutions. ISO 8000 allows both parties to adopt a common standard for the exchange of master data.
• How does Scope's certification as an ISO 8000 certified master data quality manager help in MDM Services?
  Scope is a certified "Master Data Quality Manager" organization. Many of our project managers and team leaders are also ISO 8000 certified Master Data Quality mangers. While buyers are looking to improve the quality of their master data (vendor, material, service masters), many vendors have also realized that data integration with their key customers is an excellent way of creating and maintaining long term relationships.
